The Chromatic Chronicles Of A Garden

“How can I do something a little different in my garden? Something Fun. I seem to literally be stuck in a rut out in the garden. Doing the same things. Year on year”.  Let’s dive into this.

Year One: Fifty Shades of Green

Picture it: You’re standing in your garden, squinting at the monotonous sea of green. The grass, the shrubs, the leaves—they all blend together like a salad that forgot to invite the tomatoes. But wait! What if we jazz things up? Each week, a different shade of green takes centre stage. Lime Mondays, Emerald Tuesdays, and Chartreuse Fridays.

Year Two: “Technicolor Dreamweeds”

Now that everyone’s on board with the kaleidoscope of greens, it’s time to tackle the flowers. Forget about dainty pastels—let’s go full-on neon! Neon daffodils, neon tulips, and neon roses that practically scream, “Look at me, I’m photosynthesizing!” Your garden will be the unofficial rave spot for bees and butterflies. They’ll be buzzing around like tiny, glitter-covered party animals.

Year Three: “The Great Petal Swap”

This year, we’re taking community gardening to the next level. Everyone swaps their flowers with their neighbour’s. Imagine Mrs Thompson’s primroses suddenly sprouting in your yard, while your sunflowers moonwalk over to Mr Patel’s place.

Year Four “The Wildlife Talent Show”

Our neighbourhood gardens have become a hotspot for creatures, attracted by the wider colour schemes. Squirrels have formed a synchronized swimming team in the birdbath. The hedgehog choir rehearses nightly (their rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody” is surprisingly moving). And the ladybirds? They’ve started a punk band called “The Spotted Dots.” The best part? The foxes host a late-night talk show called “Foxy After Dark.” Their monologues are awesome.

Year Five: “The Grand Finale: Prism Paradise.

We’ve reached the pinnacle—the year of all years. The local gardens, inspired by you, are now a living rainbow. Red roses, orange marigolds, yellow sunflowers, green ferns, blue forget-me-nots, indigo irises, and violet violets (because they’re committed to their brand).

So, there you have it! Your garden’s transformation from “meh” to “mind-blowing.”

Happy Gardening
